In or Out of Dark - Charcoal Drawing
This art piece is made with black charcoal on A3 paper.
The reference for this drawing was actually the library door of my university. It was a place I spent a lot of my time, inside and outside, so it had many memories and I wanted to draw it out. Initially I wanted to draw the entrance from outside and show some books inside but as the drawing progressed and I coloured the black outside I just liked how it turned out and didn't want to add the extras inside. The extreme contrast of the white inside of the library and black outside just seemed enough.
